Diana Fancourt De Ville has been passionate about painting and drawing from her earliest recollections. She has studied art with Julian Ashtons, Lionel Tapprell, and completed a 3-year full time Tafe course. She is now retired and happily immersed in painting almost full time when not teaching. Her art hangs in private collections around the world. Horticulturalists and environmentalists will marvel at the depth and detail of her work. Enjoy! Ms. De Ville makes her home in Bungalee, New South Wales, Australia Artist's Statement I enjoy painting in all mediums, especially oil, watercolour, acrylic and pastel. When drawing my choice of mediums is charcoal and pen and ink. Flowers and Fauna have been my subjects of choice for sometime now and I really enjoy the light effects on the petals of my flowers. Their colour, variety and lovely flowing shapes and shadow provide enless inspiration. Taking the closer view helps me and (I hope, the viewer) to appreciate their wonder even more and their fragile details will never cease to entral me. My animals and birds are viewed with some whimsey, they all have a personality which shows on their faces, and their eyes tell a story - sometimes mischievous, sometimes savage - while others are simply zany. ***Ms. DeVille's limited edition prints are rolled safely in acid free tissue and shipped in a tube, ready for framing*** |
