Susan Cane is a quilt maker, fiber artist, and part-time student at Northwestern Connecticut Community College in Winsted, Connecticut. Her passion has always been working with fabrics, fibers and embellishments. She spent twenty-two years as a graphic designer for print shops and newspapers in the New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts tri-corner area. The last 5 years have been dedicated to creating quilts, purses and other fiber art custom pieces.Susan's past projects include St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital's "Quilt of Dreams" campaign where she won a blue ribbon for "Most Original Design" in her district. She has also created quilts for The Ronald McDonald House, the Victory Junction Gang Camp, The Sunshine Camp and, in collaboration with her mom, a quilt for the Berkshire County AIDS Coalition and Quilts of Valor.
Her quilt “The Northwoods” received Honorable Mention in Lady Audrey’s recent Winter’s Waltz art competition.
